I’m not part of some invading army fighting against America, but, like many of you, I’m fighting for the American ideals I think we can live up to.
- Cristian Solano-Córdova, Motus Monologist with DACA
Join Motus Theater’s ImmigrantAmerica for an evening of autobiographical monologues from Colorado DACA recipients, co-read by the monologists and leaders in Colorado media, with musical guests. After the performance, there will be a moderated discussion between Motus leaders, guest readers in the media, and the audience on the use and misuse of immigration narratives in the media.
Motus Theater’s ImmigrantAmerica monologues invite listeners to experience the powerful and moving personal stories of undocumented people caught in the crosshairs of U.S. immigration policy, and to practice courageous empathy and civic hospitality by listening to and getting to know our undocumented neighbors. Motus’ ImmigrantAmerica project has been described as, “The gold standard for narratives on immigration.”
