Reclaiming the Narrative: Stories of Young Adults & Cancer

Join the Dear Jack Foundation and Motus Theater for Reclaiming the Narrative: Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Stories, a special virtual preview of a storytelling performance featuring a diverse group of six people whose lives have been shaped by cancer during adolescence and young adulthood.

Reclaiming the Narrative is a Motus Theater performance created for the Dear Jack Foundation. It was developed by Kirsten Wilson, Motus’ artistic director, in a collaboration with each storyteller: Deja Allison, Soufiane Elazim, Karol Miodonski, Megan Schneider, Keyra Valencia,  and Exa Zim.

The storytellers speak candidly about delayed diagnoses and navigating the healthcare system; friendship and relationships; fertility and family; mental health; faith; identity; pain; immigration; work; money; grief; joy; and the complicated questions of identity and the ‘new normal’ after a cancer diagnosis.

Registration is required through Eventbrite. Registered attendees will receive a separate email with information for the Zoom preview performance.
