For a Piece of Paper: Autobiographical Motus Monologues and Music About the Challenges Facing Undocumented Americans

  • Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art 1750 13th Street Boulder, CO, 80302 United States (map)

Motus Theater writers/performers Hugo Juarez, Victor Galvan, Ana Casas, and Juan Juarez share autobiographical monologues about growing up undocumented in America. These DACA recipients tell stories of obstacles, identity, resilience, and family love amidst threats of separation and the overwhelming devastation of deportation. Monologues are woven together with acapella singing by Transborder Immigration Music specialist Teresita Lozano; and visual art pieces by Sebastián Sifuentes and Kirsten Wilson. After the performance, stay for a talkback with the artists and writers.
