ImmigrantAmerica: Reclaiming Our Presence Visual Art Exhibition

 Aug. 9 - Sept. 30, 2025

Canyon Theater & Gallery, Boulder Public Library

Motus Theater’s exhibition invites visitors to engage with art that centers immigrant community members’ and their stories through a variety of mediums, including photography and illustrations. At a time when people who are undocumented are often demonized as “other” for political gain, this exhibition invites us to look past our differences and find our shared humanity.

Includes illustrations by Sebastián Sifuentes in collaboration with Kirsten Wilson; mural images by Edica Pacha, and a never before exhibited selection of photographs from Motus landmark performance Law Enforcement Leaders Read DREAMer Stories.

Regardless of individual beliefs about immigration policy, visitors will learn more about the impact of these policies on the lives of undocumented families.

Bring a Story Home: Buy or Adopt a Motus “ImmigrantAmerica” Image

Every image in this exhibition carries a powerful personal story—of courage, resilience, and hope—from DACAmented leaders in our community. You can continue sharing these stories beyond the gallery walls by purchasing or adopting one of these evocative artworks.

  • Buy an image for your home, business, or house of worship to stand in solidarity with immigrant voices.

  • Adopt an image at a reduced rate if you represent a school or nonprofit, helping educate and inspire your community.

Your contribution during this critical time in our country supports Motus Theater’s ImmigrantAmerica project—including honoraria for storytellers and musicians, and expanded reach through radio broadcasts in regions across Colorado where there’s a strong backing of anti-immigrant policies.
